Rule of Thirds
This picture is awesome for many reasons but for me it breaks down to 3 different elements that make it special to me. The first is obviously how it uses the rule of thirds in a horizontal format with the skyline as the top third, the fields as the second third, and road as the bottom third because of how close the road is to the photographer. It automatically gives you the feeling that the road takes up the whole bottom third. The second reason why I find this picture unique is because it uses the rule of thirds in a vertical format as well. Even though the road takes up the majority of the fields, it still gives you the feeling that this whole picture is divided by three vertically as well as horizontally. The third and final aspect of this picture that I want to point out is how the road at the end acts as a vanishing point. All of your attention is drawn to the vanishing point of this photo.

Video Screen Translations
This is the link to my video, sorry I couldn't pull up the video.
The video I posted is a highlight film of my favorite college football team the Oklahoma Sooners. I have been a die hard fan ever since I could remember and I felt like putting a short highlight film of them seems fit. The way that this video translates from the computer screen to my phone is very good. I think that mainly its due to the fact that phones nowadays can pretty much do anything besides teleport you to a different universe. However, even though the screen size is much smaller on a phone, I still didn't have a problem at all seeing the football, players, or definition of the field. Technology is good.
Web Design Axioms
Communication Objective- The main objective of the website is to inform you with as much information as you need, but in the shortest amount of time possible. 98% of whatever your looking for is on the home page and only a few clicks from bring accessed. Most of the time you don't even need to click outside of the homepage to find what your looking for.
Strong Grid- The grid of the landing page is mainly a horizontal layout. Everything seems to be structured to follow horizontally rather than in a vertical manner. Most of the content that comes up scrolls left to right.
Lower Right- The lower right of the home page is mainly taken up Human Poll links. Where people can participate in certain debates on athletes or teams. The other space is taken up by little links that will direct you to their Shop, ESPN Radio, or ESPN Magazine. Overall I don't think that the lower right section of the home page was meant to catch much attention.
Continuity- The landing page uses continuity to help direct the viewer towards the most recent or import sections of the page. Your eyes immediately go to what's being focused on at that time, rather than a random section.
Intuitiveness- To me this website is the definition of intuitive. The way I see it is the faster you can access your information the better off you are. ESPN's website does that in a brilliant fashion.
Affordance- The home page I have chosen does an amazing job of not only covering your sports needs, but also advertises new movies that are coming out and media of that nature. The whole objective of this site is to further more inform you in the sports world, but it also gives you other options besides sports such as shopping, music, videos, and games.

Website Design
I was unable to screenshot the home page of my website so I attached the link to it instead. The whole layout of ESPN's home page is amazing to me. Some people would maybe call it messy or have the feeling that too much is going on. However, I feel that everything you would ever want to look at or search in regards to the website is only a click away. Many people only use this website to login into their fantasy sports league, but others use it to watch live game feeds or follow certain players stats. All of which can be easily accessed.
If I'm developing a web page I would want it to have similar characteristics to ESPN's. I don't want to take 5 minutes of my time trying to navigate throughout the website to find out what I am looking for. I would want it to be fast, and right in front of me. That's why I feel like the web design for ESPN is brilliant!

I don't know why, but the sight of waves absolutely amazes me. Maybe its because I have never lived near the ocean or have only seen them in person a few times, but when I see them I'm at a loss of words. The way they flow so naturally and in sync is incredible. They are what makes the ocean seem so alive when you are staring at it. At times they can be so fierce and violent, but at other times its as if they gracefully roll over while barely disrupting the water around them.
This picture had me at a loss for words because of how much you feel apart of what's taking place. I can literally picture myself in the water watching it all unfold. This picture portrays a lot of texture to me. The feeling of running your fingers across turbulent water is easy for me to visualize. There is no such thing as a straight line in this photo, but the way the wave curls up and funnels in, your eyes are immediately drawn to the very center. There is very little negative space in this photo, which is fine to me because I like the feeling of being right in the middle of what's going on. Color is a big part of this picture as well. All the shades of blue, teal, and turquoise all intertwine to make this picture mind blowing.
